What is personalized foil?
Personalized foil cards are a new addition to Shutterfly's foil collection. The Personalized foil collection utilizes a revolutionary new technique that allows customers to customize the message on a premium card in shimmering gold foil, whether it be a sentiment, family name, date, monogram or something deeply personal. The cards have a unique, embossed texture which frames photos or elevates a personal message to stand out even more.
How do I find personalized foil cards?
Personalized foil designs will have a "PERSONALIZED FOIL" badge under the card image. Designs that can be upgraded to personalized foil (i.e., add foil to an existing design) will have an "AVAILABLE IN FOIL" badge and will also have this option when you are personalizing your card.
How are personalized foil cards different from foil-stamped cards?
Personalized foil cards have a raised, embossed texture, and the message, whether it be a sentiment, family name, date or monogram, can be customized (depending on the design). Personalized foil cards are currently only offered in gold. Look for a "PERSONALIZED FOIL" or "AVAILABLE IN FOIL" badge under the card image. Foil-stamped cards use the traditional foil stamp technique resulting in an indented, debossed texture, and do not allow for customization; foil elements are embedded into the design. Designs are offered in gold, silver and rose gold (may depend on design). Look for a "FOIL STAMPED" badge under the card image.
Is there a setup fee to use personalized foil?
There is no fee for personalized foil designs. Our pioneering technique offers design freedom without the set-up or cost restrictions.
How is personalized foil printed on my card?
Your customized text is printed in raised gold foil. The embossed texture of the foil elevates your names, personal message and design elements for a premium finish.
How do I order a sample?
Choose a design, click on the "personalize" button,then personalize your invite. Add to your cart and select 1 as the quantity.
What are the paper types that I can add personalized foil to?
Personalized foil is only available on signature matte paper.
Can I customize the foil color?
Personalized foil is currently only available in gold.
